JDSU Expands in China to Develop High-Precision Optical Coatings

JDSU has opened a new facility in Suzhou, China to manufac因此ture high-precision optical coatings for a wide variety of markets that include 3D, gesture recognition, theater projection and sensing applications. A ceremony took place today that marked the official opening of the facility within the Suzhou Industrial Park.

JDSU has committed more than $20 million to the facility that includes a staff of over 50 employees and the capaci找正装备的铅锤直度ty to grow to more than 100 employees. The site also includes new, state-of-the-art 机械设备optical coating equipment. Joining major sites in Beijing, Shenzhen, Singapore, Tokyo and Penang, the Suzhou site provides JDSU with another base to expand its relationships with Asia-based customers and suppliers.

"The new Suzhou site provides a strategic platform for JDSU to grow our optical coatings business," said Roy Bie, vice president and general manager of Advanced Optical Technologies at JDSU. "The combination of talented employees, specialized manufacturing processes and cutting-edge technology in Suzhou will ensure we meet the very precise specifications and large volumes required for markets that use our optical coatings technology."

In addition to the Suzhou site, JDSU has another奇石 optical coatings facility in Santa Rosa, California with more than 300 employees that handle manufacturing, research and development, sales and marketing.
